The place we shot at for My Spanking Roommate had two chains bolted to the rafter, which brought to mind a fantasy of mine…. being tied up. For me, being restrained kind of goes hand-in-hand with being spanked. I never really think about being restrained by itself, only being restrained and flogged, strapped, spanked, or tortured somehow.
A year or so ago, we tried to put one of those screws in the ceiling, tied a cord to it, added some handcuffs…. only to have our “moment” ruined when we tore a hole in the ceiling. Oops!
Now that is just plain hot.
Do you think being restrained adds to a punishment, or would you only do it for play?

I think just for play. If a naughty girl is being punished, she needs to be still and take what’s coming to her. (Of course, OTK is my favorite position and that lends itself to restraint less than some other postions)

We’ve done it, mainly because she likes it, and only for general play more than for spanking. No reason it couldn’t be done for a discipline spanking, but there’s been no need for it.
I find that kind of scene can be pretty exciting in some scenarios, where she’s restrained for punishment, obviously enhancing the feel of her helplessness and vulnerability, and the seriousness of the event. It doesn’t fit in my preferred scenes, though, which resemble straightforward CP, where the one doing the spanking is an authority figure who wouldn’t need to use bondage, nor would it be appropriate to do so.
